P3 - built by Greg Turner
Attached to this email is my finished marimba photos. We have not done a sound recording yet but we hope to do that soon. The frame of the marimba is made out of waste hoop pine which my dad collected from the Brisbane Old Museum Building. The bars are made from left over iron bark planks from our deck. We sprayed the resonators with estapol to protect them and to give them a different finish. I am currently working on a set of woodblocks. My next project after the woodblocks will be a 3 octave xylophone. (Oh no it won't be says Mum)
Thankyou very much for your prompt help during our building of this marimba. We had a lot of fun building it.
